Simon Sinek: His TED Talk "How Great Leaders Inspire Action” introduced the "start with why” concept. So simple – you already know it. Yet, it's a huge game changer. It helps my clients and mentees to obtain, regain, and maintain focus.



Sally Hogshead: She is incredibly insightful when it comes to human inclinations and interaction. Her team created a remarkably effective little test to help you identify how the world sees you. The resultant "Fascination Advantage Report” can go a long way to help you see how you can most effectively connect.

Community Associations Institute: Information on professional credentials, educational programs and more.


Community Associations Institute – Washington Metropolitan Chapter: The biggest CAI chapter in the country. The chapter hosts a wide variety of educational programs to benefit community association volunteers and managers.


Community Associations Institute – Southeast Virginia Chapter: This chapter serves Virginia Beach and the Hampton Roads area. The annual C.A. Day is a terrific event.


Community Associations Institute – Central Virginia Chapter: This chapter serves a large area of the commonwealth, most notably the Richmond area.


Community Associations Institute – Pennsylvania/Delaware Valley Chapter: This is a growing, dynamic chapter that provides great service to its members.

Community Association Publishing Service: Michael Pierson is one of the premier thought leaders in our industry. He provides newsletter content and consulting services from the "Left Coast.” As he calls it. If you follow him on Twitter, you’ll also see he has a keen sense of humor. In my opinion, his book Creating Community – The Art of Empowerment in Community Association Living is a thought-provoking "must read” for community association volunteers and managers. You can purchase it through the website.

Adamen, Inc.: Julie Adamen is a true thought leader in the community associations industry. Her firm provides employment placement services and publishes an outstanding newsletter. She is an outstanding and prolific writer and speaker.

Montgomery County (MD) Commission on Common Ownership Communities: The MCCCOC has raised its game in recent years and has become a resource for information for homeowners and association volunteers.
